President's Note - April 2020

Dear Members:

We know through our conversations that many of you are feeling the impact of the COVID-19 situation keenly. Some of our members are working less than before or not at all. Others are seeing their projects or clients hit pause. And still others are experiencing a deluge of high-priority work that is stretching their resources. Maybe all that from an improvised home office that you are sharing with partners, kids, and pets? We feel you.

In these same conversations about our shared challenges we have also heard powerful messages about organizations living out their values and professionals stretching their skills to deliver value. We have such pride in our members in this season of change. It isn't a surprise that talent professionals are a growth-minded group, but it sure is impressive.

Just like you in your own roles, we are working hard to continue offering value in this new world. We have converted our planned programming to virtual sessions and will continue to build a calendar of events that we hope will engage you while keeping you safe.

We are also excited to announce that we are beginning to organize topic-specific small working groups to help members tackle the challenges they face. . This is the first of several initiatives that we will introduce to keep you connected to your network and support your career.

While these events are changing how we work, our commitment to serve you remains unchanged. We are eager for your feedback on how we can support you. And now more than ever, we invite you to volunteer your expertise and experience with this community.

As this situation continues to unfold, remember that you are part of a community of professionals who are experiencing it alongside you. And it is a community that cares about you.

Stay well.

Matt Meuleners, Chapter President
