Educators History

Educators Credit Union originated in Racine, Wisconsin in 1937 as the Racine Teachers’ Credit Union.

Although growth was slow in the early years, it was steady. In the 1970’s Educators had a major growth spurt with the opening of the Kenosha and Burlington branch offices. It was then that the Racine Teachers Credit Union emerged as “Educators Credit Union”. Educators now has 17 full-service offices and has expanded its charter to include the groups listed above.

The credit union has undergone many changes in the last 75 years, Educators’ mission statement remains constant. Today, with assets exceeding $1.3 billion, Educators is one of the largest and most successful credit unions in Southeastern Wisconsin.

All Educators deposits are insured by the NCUA for at least $250,000.

Job Description

Role: This position will be responsible for the training of new employees into the Teller Role at Educators Credit Union.  To improve overall employee effectiveness/performance through the application of individual and group training techniques and programs, consistent with the Credit Union's organizational priorities.

Job Description:

  • Facilitates learning and development activities in areas related to company values, leadership competencies, compliance policies, systems and orientation.  Such areas include: Employee training sessions and on-the-job training, computers and software, marketing techniques, health and safety practices, and refresher training; as well as the development of processes, policies and procedures relevant to training and compliance.  Facilitates employee learning and development.
  • Displays knowledge of principles and methods for training and curriculum design, teaching and facilitation for individuals and groups.  Researches new training techniques and recommends enhancements to existing training programs.
  • Collaborate with others in the analysis design, development, delivery, evaluation and coordination of training programs.  Formulates training outlines and determines instructional methods, utilizing classroom training, group instruction, demonstrations, workshops, media and other tools.  Evaluates and assists in the designing of training manuals and related collateral essential to the development of employees.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of training programs, utilizing best practice methods to identify, recommend and implement improvements.
  • Creates and implement programs at work that connect employees with organizational goals.
  • Tracks the progress of trainees through routine assessments, feedback, surveys observation, supervisor feedback.
  • Completes reports, research and documentation as required.  Attends meetings as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 What's the role?

This open training position will be supporting Investment Client Services. Experience with Advisory programs and the Envestnet platform or in learning and development is desired. If you have one or the other, being a quick learner with a willingness to develop these skills is preferred.  

 

• Applies knowledge of adult learning theories, current learning trends and technologies, and best practices when:
o Facilitating and coaching (in-person or virtually; one-on-one or to groups) operational training operational training for home office, field and other learners
o Designing/developing new or updating existing technical training material (e.g., presentations, activities, case studies, quizzes, scripts) using content provided by subject matter experts (SMEs).

• Creates operations training plans.
• May create communication plans to create awareness/desire for training offerings and other operational enhancements.

• Conducts training needs and content analyses related to operational work at all levels of the value stream
• Measures and evaluates training using business metrics to assess training impact.

• May curate and/or author new content, in consultation with SMEs, for Mutual Knowledge.

• Keeps current on his/her business-area subject matter and may expand expertise to include other areas or value streams.
• Is responsible for identifying/recommending the integration of new technical content into existing.
• Supports/contributes to efforts to deliver innovative training and improve performance in the field and home office (e.g., rubrics/matrices; virtual training; electronic performance support tools; CEB)
• May design/develop eLearning using authorware (e.g. Captivate, Articulate Storyline, Lectora).
• Mentors team members and contractors.
• Consults related to technical training with own team and external teams throughout the home office

 Bring Your Best! What this role needs:

· Bachelor’s degree in business, training, instructional design, information/library science or related field. (Professional certification or equivalent experience may be substituted for academic requirements.)
· At least 3-5 years Operations experience at NM or elsewhere in the financial/insurance industry or proven ability to learn quickly.
· 1-2 years demonstrated ability to apply adult learning theories through formal education, course work or practical experience, preferably in an operations environment.

· Strong facilitation skills – including experience in virtual facilitation.
· Strong business and technical writing.
· Computer literate with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with proven ability to lead projects to completion in environments of ongoing change and ambiguity.
· Experience using authorware (e.g. Captivate, Articulate Storyline, Lectora) to create eLearning.
· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to exercise good judgment and interpretive thinking.
· Industry license as needed by designated business area (or obtained within agreed upon timeframe).
· Ability to travel, if needed.
