Our competency focus for this month is around Consulting/Partnering and OD and Culture.
Please join us for a great discussion around Organizational Design as we explore these questions:
-What is organizational design?
-What is the difference between organizational development and organization design?
-How do you know when organizational design is needed?
-How do you ensure organization design changes take hold?
Our speaker is Mark Robinson from On the Mark.
Mark previously worked as an external consultant with his own practice and spent many years as an internal organization development practitioner with organizations including Harley-Davidson, Baxter Healthcare, NCR and Northwestern Mutual.
His numerous years as an internal consultant, within the HR function and as an organization development leader on various business unit leadership teams, enables him to empathize and appreciate what many of his clients are experiencing. Key deliverables often included strategy clarification, leadership alignment, and leading change and organization design efforts across complex, matrixed organizations.
In addition to graduating from the University of Maine with a degree in business, Mark has an MBA and a Masters degree in Organization Development from Bowling Green State University. He is an active member of global organization design forums and communities of practice. While completing his MBA at Bowling Green State University (BGSU), he found out about their Masters of OD program, and was hooked! His BGSU MOD degree taught him the power of process consultation and working with the whole system, which influenced his migration to doing mostly organization design work today.
