HOW TO BRING UP THE HARD STUFF
From addressing simple frustrations to tackling deep cultural issues, so many important things go unsaid in organizations and teams. As leaders in HR and Talent, we are often in a position to begin and guide these discussions, so equipping ourselves for the work can be critical. This event addresses how to have high-stakes conversations with leaders and peers within your organization in a way that increases your confidence and builds stronger relationships. We will explore best practices of framing value propositions and exchanging feedback in healthy ways, as well as invest time learning from other professionals and their context in small group discussion.
Learning Targets:
- Frame messages in a value proposition for the audience
- Use a mental model for internalizing feedback and offering it to others successfully
- Recognize and plan for coping mechanisms that others may experience in uncomfortable conversations
- Reinforce trust in professional relationships (and culture) through bold transparency
